(JW Insights) Feb 9 -- China’s largest display panel manufacturer BOE kicks off construction of its 6th-generation display device production line in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area on February 7, JW Insights learned. The project involves a total investment of RMB29 billion ($4.3 billion).
BOE disclosed a public notice about investing in and building the 6th-generation new semiconductor display device production line project in October 2022.
The notice shows that Beijing BOE Chuangyuan Technology, a subsidiary of BOE, intends to invest in the construction of a new semiconductor display device production line using LTPO technology. The new plant focused on the VR display product market. Its main products are VR display panels and direct-lit Mini-LED display backplanes, with a designed production capacity of 50,000 pieces per month.
