(JW Insights) Feb 9 -- Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi’s Founder Lei Jun posted on social media that Mi 13 Series and Xiaomi 10 Gigabit Routers have upgraded to Wi-Fi 7 on February 6. It marks a new leap forward for he commercialization of Wi-Fi 7, drawing wide interest among users and the industry.
In recent years, the demand for high-definition images and games has exploded rapidly, and the requirement for high-bandwidth and low-latency networks has also become increasingly strong. The iteration speed of Wi-Fi technology has accelerated. Many users are looking forward to the arrival of Wi-Fi 7 technology.
The 7th generation of Wi-Fi promises major improvements over Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, and it promises to boost the speed and stability of your wireless connections significantly.
First of all, Wi-Fi 7 has lower latency; secondly, Wi-Fi 7 has stronger anti-interference ability and can achieve high-speed connections in complex network environments; In addition, Wi-Fi 7 has stronger signals, it can also maintain a stable network connection even if in a long-distance environment.
In combination with Xiaomi routers, the Mi 13 series can realize the two-way connection and automatically detect the transmission quality, and give priority to the channel transmission with lower latency. Compared with the previous generation of Wi-Fi technology, it brings a 28% lower average latency.
Based on Qualcomm’s FastConnect 7800 solution, Mi 13 realized 2.4GHz+5GHz dual frequency with 3.6Gbps transmission speed. Meanwhile, Mi 13 Pro achieved 5GHz+5GHz ultra-high-speed dual-band, with transmission speed as fast as 4.3Gbps in facilitation with Xiaomi routers.
Hu Peng, product marketing director of Qualcomm, said that new applications such as XR and cloud games have urgent requirements for higher Wi-Fi performance, fast network speed, high capacity, and lower latency. The Wi-Fi 7 has more new features, such as fast connection, multi-connection, and adaptive connection.
Many companies, including technology giants such as Qualcomm and MediaTek, have made big bets on Wi-Fi 7.
