(JW Insights) Feb 21 -- China's leading university Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) established Turing Research Center for Interdisciplinary Information Science with the support of Xi’an City and Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Core Technology (IIISCT, 交叉信息核心技术研究院) in northwestern China’s Shaanxi Province on February 17, JW Insights learned.

The two parties will build a cooperation platform to jointly find scientific and technological talents from home and abroad, and promote the deep integration of local industry, education and research.

IIISCT was founded by Tsinghua University and Xi’an City in 2018, and is Xi'an’s new generation of AI open innovation platform. Its R&D team include mainly experts from universities including Tsinghua University and XJTU.

At a signing ceremony, Andrew Yao, head of IIISCT, Turing Award winner and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, released the scientific research results of the institute including an independently developed AI acceleration chip based on Chiplet technology.

Several enterprises signed an agreement to use their respective advantages and resources to develop high-performance dedicated computing solutions based on the Chiplet architecture to meet the needs of relevant markets.
