(JW Insights) Apr 12 -- The Artificial Intelligence Summit, a new significant event at 2023 JiWei Semiconductor Summit (JWSS), is set to be held on June 2 in Xiamen of southeastern China's Fujian Province. The JWSS is one of the most influential annual gatherings for China's semiconductor investment industry.

Themed "Artificial Intelligence in the GPT Era," the upcoming AI summit will bring together renowned figures in the generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) field, including experts, scholars, corporate executives, industry analysts, and top investment institution representatives.

With a targeted size audience of 300, the summit will cover topics on the current development status and trends, industry bottlenecks, technological innovation challenges, generative AI investment directions and prospects.

The runaway success of OpenAI's chatbot model ChatGPT since late last year has excited and inspired Chinese societies and industries. Top leading Chinese tech companies, including Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent and other companies, have raced to introduce their own versions. There is a growing consensus that AI technologies like ChatGPT have the potential to revolutionize all industries, similar to the last Industrial Revolution.

The development of this technology also poses new challenges for the industry. In terms of the upstream, generative AI technology requires high computing power, and complex algorithms and consumes a huge amount of hardware resources. Downstream applications must also find ways to apply this powerful technology to specific industries while considering ethical and moral issues. Despite these challenges, companies across the industry, from chip makers to cloud service providers, are eagerly preparing for the arrival of the new GPT era.

Apart from the AI Summit, the 7th JiWei Semiconductor Summit will take place on June 2-3 in Xiamen International Conference Center Hotel. It will offer 50 activities that span the entire industry chain, release dozens of professional reports and gather over 6,000 attendees from various sectors.

Themed "Strive on the Industry Momentum with Vision," it will expand its scale to a new high in programs and audience size since its start in 2017.
