(JW Insights) Apr 14 -- Zeekr, the premium EV brand of China’s Geely signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with US chip giant Intel to explore in-depth cooperation in developing automotive hardware products, intelligent vehicle applications and solutions, Zeekr announced on April 13.
Zeekr completed $750 million Series A financing, with the brand now valued at $13 billion in February 2023. There are five investors in this round, including the founder and CEO of Mobileye Amnon Shashua, and Chinese EV giant CATL.
Geely established the Zeekr in 2021. The company’s Zeekr 001 coupe set the fastest delivery record among the Chinese EV startup players. In 2023, Zeekr plans to launch two new models and double the number of new car deliveries. It delivered 6,663 cars in March, and the cumulative delivery has reached 93,000, the company said on April 1.
Recently, Zeekr increased its registered capital from RMB5 billion ($730.52 million) to RMB9 billion ($1.31 billion).
