(JW Insights) Apr 20 -- The US Department of the Treasury added four Chinese companies to a sanctions list on April 19 on the grounds of providing electronic components to PASNA (an entity involved in Iran’s military activities), JW Insights learned.
The four companies from China subject to restrictions are Arttronix International (HK) Limited (亿电国际香港有限公司), Jotrin Electronics Limited (杰驰电子有限公司), Vohom Technology (HK) CO., Limited (华弘科技香港有限公司) and Yinke (HK) Electronics Company Limited (盈科香港电子有限公司).
The sanction list is called Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List, also known as the SDN List. It is a United States government sanctions/embargo measure targeting US-designated individuals and companies. Those on the sanctions lists are prohibited from managing any property or financial assets in the United States. The US companies, in turn, cannot do business with structures and persons that have fallen under restrictions.
In addition, one individual and two companies based in Iran and Malaysia were also put on the list due to the supply of electronic components to Tehran's military programs, bypassing current restrictions, according to the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
