(JW Insights) Apr 26 -- Global and Chinese leading automotive suppliers tout cutting-edge technologies at Shanghai Auto Show from April 17 to 27, as automakers are competing to roll out more electric and self-driving cars.

Chinese tech giant Huawei debuted its advanced intelligent driving system HUAWEI ADS 2.0. on the eve of the auto show last week. Richard Yu, executive director of Huawei, announced that HUAWEI ADS 2.0 will be equipped on its crossover SUV AITO M5, followed by Avatr 11 and Arcfox Alpha-S, and more models in the future.

At the Shanghai Auto Show, Aptiv, an Irish-American automotive technology supplier with headquarters in Dublin, launched an industry-leading integrated ADAS(Advanced driver assistance systems) developed by its local Chinese team. It can realize functions such as navigation assistance, automatic parking, valet parking assist, and automatic parking assist with braking.

Chinese intelligent driving startup ThunderX Auto Technology(畅行智驾), a subsidiary of ThunderSoft(中科创达), released its new intelligent driving domain control solution - RazorDCX Pantanal at the show. It is based on the chip giant Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon Ride™ platform for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD). The solution is one of the first products based on this platform in China and has the characteristics of strong scalability, high functional safety, and broad application scenarios.

The RazorDCX Pantanal domain controller can realize Level 2.9 basic low-speed parking, automatic highway driving, and Level 3 urban autonomous driving. It can be expanded to Level 4 autonomous driving scenarios such as unmanned vending vehicles and autonomous cleaning vehicles in closed parks.

In intelligent cockpit solutions, China’s automotive electronics products manufacturer Desay SV(德赛西威) exhibited its cockpit solution based on Smart Solution 2.0, in which parent-child interaction, healthy travel, and entertainment modes became the hot features for passengers. Its Smart Solution 2.0 further upgrades the cockpit entertainment experience.

As a key component in bringing safe self-driving vehicles to life, LiDAR technology enables the power of vision. At the auto show, Chinese LiDAR maker Innovusion(图达通) showcases image-level ultra-long-range main-view LiDAR Falcon, the new generation Robin platform, and the new perception software platform OmniVidi.

Innovusion provides a complete solution combining cutting-edge LiDAR products and intelligent perception software. The newly developed OmniVidi platform includes two major components: the perception platform and the toolchain. The perception center converts the raw data of LiDAR into perception results through algorithms. Based on powerful LiDAR data visualization, data labeling, model training, and other tools, the toolchain forms a closed loop of data and algorithms to facilitate the rapid iteration of perception models, according to the company.

Founded in 2016, Innovusion is a leading LiDAR provider with R&D centers in Silicon Valley, Suzhou, and Shanghai, and highly industrialized car-level LiDAR manufacturing bases in Ningbo of eastern China’s Jiangsu Province and Wuhan of central China’s Hubei Province.
