(JW Insights) May 15 -- GigaDevice (兆易创新), a Chinese leading semiconductor device supplier, launched new series of ultra high-performance microcontroller units (MCUs) - GD32H7, the company announced on May 11.

The new MCUs, which are based on Arm® Cortex®-M7 core, offer outstanding processing efficiency, robust connectivity features, and multiple security mechanisms.

Featuring advanced process technology and optimized cost control, the new product portfolio comprises 27 models across three series. GigaDevice will release samples and development boards for application by the end of May and start mass production in October.

The MCUs can be widely used in applications such as digital signal processing, motor frequency conversion, power supply, energy storage systems, drones, audio and video, graphics, and imaging.

This series of MCUs are also suitable for several high-end innovative scenarios, including machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), thanks to its ultra-high frequency and large storage capacity.

Jin Guangyi, product marketing director at GigaDevice, said, “The widespread adoption of IoT and AI is driving embedded design towards intelligence. The GD32H7 breaks the performance boundaries of MCUs, providing powerful computing support for advanced innovative applications such as complex operations, multimedia technology, and edge AI.”

Founded in 2005, the Beijing-based GigaDevice mainly supplies flash memory, MCU, and sensors for consumer electronics, mobile phones, industrial vehicles, and networking communications. The company was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2016, according to its website.

It has offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hefei, the US, South Korea, Japan, the UK, Germany, and Singapore.
