(JW Insights) June 2 -- The Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area, also called Beijing E-Town, has developed 211 new products and technologies in 2022, many of which have filled domestic gaps, an official said during the 2023 ZGC forum held this week.
China Daily reported that around 40 enterprises from Beijing E-Town brought their new products and technologies, displaying their latest sci-tech achievements in the exhibition section of the forum.
Enterprises in the area currently hold 14,686 patents, an increase of 27.9 percent compared to 2021. The number of national-level high-tech enterprises in the area has reached 1,868.
Beijing E-Town has been supporting enterprises with favorable policies and industrial services. The area is home to 87 companies in key industrial sectors including information technology, new energy vehicles, robots, artificial intelligence, biotechnology and health, leading the national economic and technological development areas in the country.
At the exhibition, Zhang Hongda of Beijing LLVision Technology, said their intelligent augmented reality glasses are equipped with voice recognition technology, making it efficient and accurate for users.
"The intelligent AR glasses can solve the communication problems for the hearing impaired people by converting voice signals into subtitles on the glasses. They can also provide translation functions for people who travel to other countries," Zhang said.
Beijing E-Town has been supporting the business environment, establishing ecological innovation platforms for high-tech enterprises and improving financial services in the technology industry to achieve high-quality development, according to the China Daily report.
