(JW Insights) Jun 27 -- Taicang, a city in eastern China’s Jiangsu Province, has attracted 487 German enterprises, forming three major innovative clusters for new energy vehicle components, aerospace, and industrial machinery, according to a report by Reference News on June 22.

There are around 500 German manufacturing companies based in Taicang now. Among them are also nearly 60 invisible champion German companies.

Over 600 local enterprises and research institutions have partnered with German companies in various forms, pushing Taicang to become a global high-end automotive parts production base and an international high-end intelligent machine tool industry cluster.

The 15th Taicang Day, which was held on June 20 in Stuttgart, capital of the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg, celebrated the long time relationship of the two sides.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of cooperation between Taicang and Germany. Investors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and Luxembourg were invited and introduced on the city's business environment on the Taicang Day.

The event attracted more than 150 guests from well-known economic and trade promotion organizations, research institutes and German companies such as Bosch, Porsche, and Trumpf.

The first Taicang Day was held in 2008, and has become a professional brand showcasing Taicang's progress in Sino-German cooperation.

"Taicang has drawn a large amount of investment from German enterprises and facilitated numerous active economic and cultural exchanges between China and Germany," said Wang Xiangyuan, Party chief of Taicang, in his virtual Taicang Day speech.

Taicang has established a series of high-standard industry parks that have attracted a number of German institutions as well as innovation centers.

In addition, Taicang hosted German beer festivals, football matches, and marathons for more than ten consecutive years, attracting over 1,000 Germans to live in Taicang throughout the year.
