(JW Insights) Jul 19 -- Ctrip (携程), China’s travel agency giant, released its first vertical AI large model "Ctrip Wenda" designed for the tourism industry, providing intelligent assistant services to improve the travel process using AI technology, JW Insights learned.

Founded in 1999, Shanghai-based Ctrip was listed on the NASDAQ in 2003. It now has over 45,100 employees and over 400 million registered users around the world.

Liang Jianzhang, Ctrip's, chairmman, said, "Ctrip Wenda has screened out 20 billion high-quality unstructured tourism data with its own structured real-time data and search algorithms. It will offer recommendations on destinations, hotels, and sightseeing as well as real-time search results for flights and hotels.”

"Based on intelligent algorithms, our AI model has also formed various lists through manually verifying the recommendations for hotels, scenic spots, and trips," Liang added.

The data calculation for each list is as high as 5 million on average, and Ctrip’s employees from more than 30 countries and regions help verify the data. These efforts have made the recommendations more reliable than the general model, according to Liang.
