(JW Insights) Jul 27 -- Chinese JCET, TF Microelectronics, and HT Tech were in the top seven in 2021 and 2022 among the top 25 list of OSAT(Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test ) semiconductor companies by revenue released by Gartner recently.
Chinese companies occupied 25% the the global market share, second only to those from the Taiwan region with 46.9% in 2022, said Gartner.
JCET ranked third in both 2021 and 2022. Its revenue increased from RMB4.661 billion ($653.52 million) in 2021 to RMB4.977 billion ($697.83 million) in 2022, up 6.8%. Its market share increased from 11.1% to 11.2%.
Tongfu Microelectronics ranked 6th in 2021 and jumped to 5th in 2022. Its revenue increased from RMB2.452 billion ($343.80 million) in 2021 to RMB3.093 billion ($433.67 million) in 2022, up 26.2%. Its market share increased from 5.8% to 7.0%.
HT Technology ranked 7th in 2021 and maintained the same in 2022. Its revenue dropped from RMB1.426 billion ($199.94 million) in 2021 to RMB1.318 billion ($184.80 million) in 2022, down by 7.6%. Its market share dropped from 3.4% to 3.0%.
Taiji Semiconductor ranked 19th in 2021 and jumped to 17th in 2022. Its revenue grew from RMB396 million ($55.52 million) in 2021 to RMB471 million ($66.04 million) in 2022, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year. Its market share increased from 0.9% to 1.1%.
Overall, the top 25 semiconductor companies performed well during 2021-2022, with growth in total revenue and market share. However, individual companies have shown declines in the face of market challenges. These figures reflect the highly competitive and changing market dynamics of the OSAT semiconductor industry.
IDC said on July 25 that it is estimated that the worldwide semiconductor OSAT market size will drop by 13.3% year on year in 2023. However, the gradual recovery of the semiconductor industry, coupled with the deployment of vendors in advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration, will drive the overall OSAT industry back to growth in 2024.
