(JW Insights) Jul 27 -- Alibaba's fintech affiliate Ant Group (蚂蚁集团) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore have announced a research collaboration to explore privacy-preserving computing technology innovation.

The collaboration will focus on Private Set Intersection (PSI) and use Ant Group's Secret Flow framework as the research foundation to promote the development of PSI technology and explore related applications.

NTU Singapore's Strategic Centre for Research in Privacy-Preserving Technologies & Systems (SCRIPTS) and its world-leading expertise in privacy-preserving computing, combined with Ant Group's research and development capabilities, and deep industry insights, are expected to push the frontiers of this emerging field.

PSI is currently one of the most widely used privacy-preserving computing technologies. As a cryptographic protocol, PSI supports parties to compute the intersection of their own private data sets without disclosing any information beyond the intersection, to ensure the privacy of non-intersecting data of each party.

Ant Group has been developing privacy-preserving computing technology since 2016. It aims to create an industrial-grade and Secret Flow trusted privacy-preserving computing technology stack, and make its core products open source including the Secret Flow framework, OcclumTEE operating system, and HyperEnclaveTEE foundation.
