(JW Insights) Aug 2 -- Beijing-based EV manufacturer Li Auto delivered 34,134 EVs in July, up 228 percent from a year earlier, exceeding the threshold of 30,000 for the second consecutive month and surpassing its EV peers, reported Yicai Global on August 2.
Li Auto delivered its 400,000th vehicle last month, becoming the first Chinese NEV startup to achieve such milestone, chairman and CEO Li Xiang said.
Nio ranked second as the Shanghai-based NEV startup delivered 20,462 cars last month, up 104 percent from the same period last year and 91 percent from June, achieving a new monthly record. The positive performance was driven by the newly-released sports utility vehicle ES6, which deliveries kicked off in May and reached 10,000 units in July.
Xpeng Motors’ deliveries rose 28 percent to over 11,000 units last month from a year earlier, achieving growth for the sixth consecutive month. Some 3,900 of the delivered cars were of the Xpeng G6 model, an electric coupe SUV launched in the middle of last month.
Hozon Auto delivered 10,039 NEVs in July. Leapmotor sold 14,335 units in the period.
Between January and July, Li Auto and Nio delivered 173,251 and 75,023 units, respectively, according to the Yicai Global report.
