(JW Insights) Aug 3 -- Chinese auto chipmaker SemiDrive Technology (芯驰科技) and Samsung Semiconductor announced to form a long-term strategic partnership and strengthen cooperation in automotive chips on August 2.
SemiDrive will adopt Samsung Semiconductor's high-performance storage chips in developing its reference solutions for automotive chips in various scenarios. The two parties will further innovate system integration and automotive semiconductor adaptation.
Kichul Chun, vice president of Samsung Semiconductor China, said, “Samsung Semiconductor expects to achieve more breakthroughs in automotive semiconductor technology together with SemiDrive leveraging our technological advantages in in-vehicle storage solutions, helping automakers create better experience for consumers.”
SemiDrive was founded in 2018 in Nanjing of eastern China’s Jiangsu Province. The company provides auto chips and solutions for smart cockpit, smart driving, gateway, and microcontroller units (MCU). It has more than 260 clients, covering over 90% of Chinese carmakers and several major international automakers, including SAIC, Chery, Changan, Dongfeng, FAW, Nissan, Honda, Volkswagen, and Li Auto.
