(JW Insights) Aug 25 -- Kai-Fu Lee’s AI company 01.AI (零一万物) was officially registered in Beijing on August 22 with a registered capital of RMB100 million($13.72 million), according to Tianyancha, provider of Chinese corporation data and due diligence platform.

The company is dedicated to creating a brand-new AI 2.0 platform that will effectively enhance human productivity and generate significant economic and social value, said the company’s official website.

“The AI 2.0 era will bring about platform opportunities ten times larger than the mobile Internet, giving rise to a new wave of AI-first applications and fostering an AI-centric application ecosystem while exploring innovative business models,” said the company.

Kai-Fu Lee stated that 01 represents the digital world, starting from zero and encompassing everything in the universe.

01.AI already has dozens of core team members, specializing in areas such as AI large model, AI algorithms, and natural language processing. The team has attracted former vice presidents of Alibaba and Baidu, former chief algorithm officers of Didi and Baidu, former executives of Google China, and former vice presidents of Microsoft, SAP, and Cisco, according to a July announcement by Sinovation Ventures where Kai-Fu Lee serves as the chairman and CEO.
