(JW Insights) Aug 28 -- Huawei's GPU capability is already the same as that of Nvidia A100, said Liu Qingfeng, founder and chairman of iFlytek, at the 2023 Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum Summer Summit held from August 24 to 27 in Shenzhen, southern China's Guangdong Province.
Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei attaches great importance and sent three co-chairmen to iFlytek to work on it, and now they have achieved the standard of Nvidia A100, added Liu in his speech at the event.
"Large language models were basically trained by Nvidia's chips before, and (we) can do only minor tuning and training. Training models is relatively difficult. This time, we have basically solved this problem," said Liu.
He said that iFlytek will release a general-purpose large-scale model to fully benchmark ChatGPT by October 24 this year. The new product will surpass ChatGPT in Chinese and be equal to it in English.
“Frankly speaking, we still have a gap with ChatGPT today, but we know very well that we will be able to catch up in October, and we will benchmark against GPT4 in the first half of next year,” said Liu.
