(JW Insights) Sep 19 -- China’s Desay SV, SAIC Motor Overseas Intelligent Mobility, and AutoChips recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly develop a global cockpit platform for overseas users.
The new generation cockpit platform, "GuoXin V5/GXV5", will leverage SAIC Overseas Intelligent Mobility's global connected ecosystem, cloud services, and robust data security capabilities. AutoChips will provide next-generation AC8025 chip for efficient computing and advanced communication capabilities. Supported by Desay SV's system and functional software and hardware platform, it will better adapt to the diverse habits and needs of overseas users.
It will maximize the computing power, upgrade the operating system, and expand storage space to meet users' cabin entertainment needs such as multimodal and multi-screen interaction, while complying with EU regulations R155 and R156, as well as information security requirements, said Desay SV.
The new cockpit platform is expected to achieve mass production before the second quarter of 2024.
China's exports of new energy vehicles have been continuously increasing since last year. From January to August 2023, a total of 2.941 million vehicles were exported, surging 61.9% over the previous year, according to data recently released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The current favorable export situation of Chinese brands is expected to drive the supply chain to expand globally. Moreover, the overseas project experience of industry chain enterprises and the secure and reliable supply chain guarantee will further support the internationalization of Chinese automobile brands.
