(JW Insights) Sep 25 -- Chinese multinational technology and entertainment conglomerate Tencent officially announced on September 24 the launch of the Qingyun Plan(青云计划), a global initiative to recruit a group of top technical students and cultivate internet technology talent through the company’s platform.

The so-called “Qing” represents the youth, while “yun” symbolizes cutting-edge technology. Tencent hopes to recruit young individuals with aspirations and aims to tackle challenging and advanced technical problems.

The plan offers highly customized training and competitive compensation, allowing participants to deeply engage in cutting-edge technology topics within Tencent’s core business. Participants can immerse themselves in over ten technology domains, including AI, big data, security, multimedia, databases, hardware/infrastructure, game engines, and more, encompassing 70+ technical topics, including the versatile Hunyuan big language model.

The plan’s target candidates include Ph.D. graduates from September 2021 to August 2024 and undergraduate or master’s students graduating between September 2023 and August 2024. They are invited to submit their resumes for the “Campus Recruitment - Qingyun Plan” positions.

The Chinese tech giant views the Qingyun Plan as a connecting point to facilitate a two-way exchange between young talents and technological innovation, aligning high-quality employment with national development.

In 2022, Tencent’s R&D expenditure exceeded RMB61.4 billion($8.4 billion), ranking first among the top 500 Chinese private enterprises in a report released by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, according to media reports.
