(JW Insights) Oct 11 -- Chinese flash memory supplier Longsys (江波龙) -completed the acquisition of 70% equity of Taiwanese PowerTech's subsidiary in Suzhou, eastern China's Jiangsu Province, announced the company on October 10.
Powertech was founded in May 1997 in the Taiwan region. It is the world's largest third-party memory chip packaging and testing manufacturer with world-leading technology. Its Suzhou subsidiary covered the main business of chip packaging, testing, and surface-mounted technology (SMT). Its main products include various memory chips and logic chips.
Founded in 1999 in Shenzhen and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2022, Longsys focuses on the comprehensive application field of semiconductor storage. It owns the industry storage brand FORESEE and the international high-end consumer storage brand Lexar.
The acquisition will help Longsys further enhance its memory chip packaging and testing capabilities, improve its industrial chain layout, and strengthen its business partnership with original memory wafer manufacturers, according to the company.
