(JW Insights) Oct 18 -- Chinese image sensor maker GalaxyCore (格科微) has mass-produced its 32-megapixel image sensor products, which can provide a mature high-resolution solution for the front cameras of high-end smartphones, the company announced on October 17.
GalaxyCore innovatively adopted a single-chip integration approach for this product, incorporating numerous innovative designs in circuits for ADC, digital and interfaces. The product is also compatible with 1/3.1-inch camera module sizes, meeting the compact ID design requirements of 5G smartphones, according to its announcement.
GalaxyCore stated that the mass production of the 32-megapixel image sensor products marks that its product positioning has been elevated from the traditional range of 2 to 8 megapixels to 32 megapixels and above, which can provide a strong guarantee for the company's entry into the high-resolution image sensor market.
The company will launch higher-resolution products such as 50-megapixel, 64-megapixel, and 108-megapixel specifications based on the high-resolution single-chip integration technology, to enhance its core competitiveness and market share, said the company.
Founded in 2003 and based in Shanghai, GalaxyCore is a major player in CMOS image sensor and display driver IC in China. Its products are widely used in global mobile devices and other electronic products including smart wearables, mobile payments device, tablets, notebooks, cameras, and automotive electronics.
The company was listed on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in August 2021.
