China’s leading EDA company Empyrean Technology(华大九天) will acquire XinDA Design Automation Limited (芯達科技) for $10 million in cash through its wholly-owned subsidiary in Shenzhen, and the acquisition agreement has been signed, announced the company on October 18.

Founded in June 2018, XinDA Design is a Hong Kong-based software development company. It develops memory/IP characterization tools, one of the critical tools in digital design and wafer fabrication.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Beijing, Empyrean Technology is an EDA and services provider to the global semiconductor industry.

Empyrean said the acquisition would help enrich its EDA tools and complement its shortcomings in digital design and wafer manufacturing EDA tools, in line with the company's development strategy.
