(JW Insights) Feb 14 -- Chinese AI chipmaker Cambricon signed a cooperation agreement on February 11 with Huangyan District of Taizhou City in eastern China's Zhejiang Province to build an intelligent computing center and an artificial intelligence industry base, JW Insights learned.
The two projects will construct new types of public computing power infrastructure that provide computing power, data and algorithm services, and creates platforms for intelligent industry innovation, industry aggregation, technology innovation and talent training.
After completion, they will further enhance the functions of the local intelligent public service platforms, and effectively solve the computing power bottleneck in the digital economy, helping Huangyan boost artificial intelligence innovation advantage, according to Bao Shunfu, the Party Secretary of Huangyan District.
Founded in 2016, Beijing-based Cambricon has focused on core AI processors used in cloud servers, edge computing equipment, and devices, according to its website. The company went public on China's Nasdaq-style STAR market in Shanghai in 2020.
