(JW Insights) Jun 22 -- JW Insights has compiled in mid June the management information of 173 Chinese A-share semiconductor listed companies, showing the structure of their board of directors, board of supervisors and senior managers, gender, country and region, age, educational background and salary.
Among the 173 companies, there are 1,412 board of directors, 530 board of supervisors, 1,024 senior executives, totaling 2,966 people. Since many people hold several positions in the management, the actual number is 2,455 people, an average of 14.2 people for each company.
Gender / age
Male managers still account for main proportion at 76.1% and women 23.9%.
Their two main age groups are 40-49 years old and 50-59 years old, accounting for 37.4% and 31.2% respectively, taking up nearly 70% of the total.
It is worth mentioning that the average age of the management of the chip giant SMIC is the highest among all the listed chip companies in this statistics.
Countries and regions
Personnel in Chinese mainland regions accounted for 91.5%, and senior executives in non-Chinese mainland regions accounted for 8.5%, mainly from the United States, the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao as well as Singapore, accounting for 3.3%, 2.4%, 1.1% and 0.7%, respectively.
Education / salary
Nearly 60% of senior executives have master's or doctor's degrees, and less than 10% have a bachelor's degree or less.
In addition, the average salary of these executives was RMB1.472 million ($205,028) , with the highest proportion at RMB1 million($139,285) to RMB2 million(278,571) - 34.5 percent.
The company with the highest average management salary is the leading packaging company JCET (RMB6.343 million - $883,070). These executives hold 29.1% of the company's shares.
