(JW Insights) Oct 16 -- China’s largest telecom operator China Mobile and the country’s leading state-owned enterprise, China Electronic Technology Group Corporation (CETC), signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on October 11 to jointly develop large language models(LLMs), chips, and other projects.
According to the agreement, both parties will make full efforts to promote self-reliance and self-improvement in technology. They will explore the establishment of a joint innovation platform in areas such as algorithm-network integration, artificial intelligence, LLMs, chips, and smart homes. They will actively collaborate to ensure effective progress through a new joint research and development model, and platform mechanisms.
The two parties will also deepen strategic coordination in areas such as basic telecommunications, network security, talent exchange, strategic investments, carbon neutrality, and rural revitalization. This will promote the continuous improvement of development quality and efficiency, according to the two companies.
